People’s Tribunal into the Human Rights Impact of Unconventional Gas – Banco Court, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2017

AELA is working with the Western Downs and Wider Unconventional Gas Group (WDWUGG) to hold a People’s Tribunal into the Human Rights Impacts of Unconventional Gas.

The WDWUGG consists of businesses, not for profits and individuals who have come together with a mandate to form a working committee of representatives to hold the Tribunal.

The Tribunal is being held on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of February 2017  at the Banco Court in Brisbane.  Tribunal Judges will include leaders from the legal profession and wider community.  Members of the public will be able to attend the Tribunal and details about how to book your place will be available soon.

Witness accounts, evidence and findings from the Tribunal will be included in plenary hearings of the International Tribunal into Human Right Impacts of Fracking held in the US and UK in October 2017.  The accounts, evidence and findings will also be made available to other peak bodies in order to inform and influence policy and community dialogue in Australia and overseas.
